CINCINNATI — A Cincinnati city councilman will be headed to Congress after Tuesday night’s election.
Greg Landsman walked into his watch party full of supporters at a downtown Cincinnati bar and next congressional representative for Ohio’s first district.
He made his victory speech in front of a packed room of shouting supporters. Landsman told his supporters he plans to work on things like infrastructure issues, abortion rights and voting rights.
“I got a lot of work to do, but I have the opportunity now too, you know, to be the kind of member of congress that I've seen in other places," said Landsman. "I just haven't ever seen here, which is somebody who's home all the time working with us, you know, and getting things done."
Landsman is expected to continue to make his rounds, thanking his supporters, but he said the first thing he's going to do is continue his work on the city council until he officially takes his office and gets sworn in.
