Over the past 20 years, more members of the United States military have died by suicide than ever before, being one of the top two causes of death among service members.

Researchers at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Ohio State’s College of Medicine are trying to change those statistics.

The Department of Defense has awarded Ohio State University $8.4 million to conduct a study on suicide prevention for the military.

Dr. Craig Bryan of the Ohio State University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health joined Spectrum News to discuss the research.
