CLEVELAND — Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter is taking part in "Adopt a Shelter Dog Month" by reducing their adoption fees to $30-$50 as part of a month-long promotion called “Adoptober.”

Mindy Naticchioni, the Shelter Administrator, said the purpose of the promotion is to help dogs find a home.

What You Need To Know

  • Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter is having an October promotion called Adoptober

  • They are offering $30-$50 adoption fees

  • The promotion runs the entire month and applies to every dog in the shelter

“We’ve partnered with Ken Ganley Subaru of Bedford to celebrate adopt a shelter dog month.," said Naticchioni. "We really want to promote that Subaru loves pets and gets involved with all the shelter dogs that are waiting for homes across the country.”

The shelter has been at full capacity throughout the last few months, which is about 112 dogs. Naticchioni said they are looking to change that this month.

“They are spayed and neutered, they come with a dog license, all their vaccines and they’re ready to go home for you to adopt this month so that we can really clear out our shelters and make space for new dogs coming in,” she said.

She said that each dog, although they have different stories, is just looking for a forever home.

“We would really love to see more than half these dogs find a new home. The great thing about these promotions is they really put a spotlight on the wonderful dogs that are in our kennels now that sometimes get overlooked,” she said.

The promotion will run the entire month of October and applies to every dog at the shelter.
