OHIO — Memorial Day is the official kick-off to the summer travel season and across the country as eager vacationers are gearing up for the busy holiday weekend. 

With the rise in gas prices, even road trips have become more expensiv,e but there are some easy regional drive destinations from Ohio that are perfect for an affordable “one-tank trip.”

Travel Expert Jeanenne Tornatore recommends a quick drive to Michigan, Chicago, Illinois, or Baltimore, MD — all of which have hotspots less than 400 miles from Cleveland or Columbus.

In order to limit spending while at your destination, Tornatore said staying in the heart of the city is key to allowing easy walking access to restaurants and attractions.
