CLEVELAND — Only in Clev Owner Brian lynch said he has new Guardians designs just in time for the home opener Friday.

  • The store owner says their old Indians merchandise still has sentimental value for fans 

“It’s kind of a surprise," he said. "I was waiting for it." 

He had these designs made since there’s a new baseball team name about to debut at Progressive field. These new designs feature the team's new brand, which is based on the iconic guardians of traffic statues that adorn the Lorain-Carnegie bridge. 

“We have to keep up with that, and we have to keep designing," he said.

This year, they’ll be customizing clothing, so fans can show off the logo around town. 

While many fans will get their new Guardians gear to match the new team name, Lynch said there are still fans who want to remember the more than century-long history of the Cleveland Indians.

So Lynch said there is still plenty of merchandise featuring the team's old name, along with throwbacks to days at the ballpark. 

“This was 10 cent beer day," he said. "I was there. It was a lot of fun."

He said they’ll still sell clothing with the old name, while the town adapts to a new chapter in Cleveland baseball. 

“It’s been a big part of people’s history," Lynch said. "We grew up with the Indians. It becomes part of your life."
