Do you love symmetry? This is your week. It's not only a palindrome week, but there are a couple of other unique things happening with the calendar this week.
What You Need To Know
- This week's dates are the same forwards and backwards
- Tuesday is also an ambigram day
- Ambigram dates are the same upside down when written vertically
- The next double palindrome and ambigram date is in 2080
A palindrome week happens when every day of the week can be read the same forwards and backwards.
This week, we are seeing a very rare occurrence. 2-22-22, which can also be written 22-02-2022, is both a palindrome and an ambigram.
This means it reads the same left to right, right to left and upside down.
Palindromes are much more common than ambigrams, but some people consider these symmetrical dates as good luck!
The third unique thing about this rare calendar week: The "Tuesday" adds special meaning by making it a "Twosday."
We had a palindrome and ambigram day last year on Feb. 12, 2021 (when written as 12.02.2021).
The next palindrome day will be Feb. 3, 2030 but we will have to wait a lot longer for the next double palindrome and ambigram date. It won't happen until Feb. 8, 2080!
