CLEVELAND — It’s hard to miss Robyn Lockner when she pulls up to a Cleveland Browns tailgate in her converted school bus.

What You Need To Know

  • The Cleveland Browns Women's Group was started as a small group between friends
  • Now, the group has nearly 5,000 female Browns fans
  • Only women Browns fans are allowed to join the group

Lockner has been a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns and even named the most recent addition to her family, a 9-month-old puppy, after the city.

“It’s all Browns, all the time,” Lockner said. “There is no off season for me. It’s always football.”

Even though Lockner eats, sleeps and breathes the Cleveland Browns, she said she was not taken seriously by some men online.

“You couldn’t as a women make a comment, you couldn’t have an opinion, you couldn’t say anything without the men just ripping into you. They would belittle you," she explained. "They think you didn’t know football.”

So she decided to create her own Facebook group called the Cleveland Browns Women's Group to talk football with her friends.

Since then, the group has grown significantly.

"It is actually a great group," she said. "It is so awesome. We are at like 4,800 women.”

The all-female group gives fans a safe place to discuss the sport and team that they love, all while making new friendships.

“[Members] are from around the world. We are not just in the U.S. or not just in Ohio," she said. "It’s around the world.”
