BARBERTON, Ohio — Two Barberton High School students were named the Week 8 Scholar Athletes of the Week for the northeast region.

Kathryn Swanson is a swimmer for Barberton. When not competing as a varsity letterman for her school, Swanson competes for USA Swim. When not competing in the pool, she has a 3.91 grade-point average while taking honors and AP classes. Swanson is also a member of the Math Club, Academic Challenge and band. In the community, she plays the piano and helps at her church.

Andrew Miller is a baseball player for the Magics. When he isn’t playing as a varsity letterman on the diamond, Miller has a 3.97 GPA and is in the cyber security program through the Compact. Miller also is a member of the Barberton chapter of the Drugs Free Clubs of America.
