WESTERVILLE, Ohio — The Genoa Township Police Department said after searching Westerville Central High School with K-9 units, there were no devices found linked to a bomb threat made Wednesday.

Students and staff at Westerville Central High School had to evacuate the building Wednesday after the school received a bomb threat, according to its website.

Genoa Township Police Department wrote on its Facebook page around 11 a.m. that it was investigating the threat, and asked parents to not go to either Westerville Central or Alcott Elementary, which was also placed on lockdown as a precaution.

At 2 p.m., the department sent out an update saying nothing was found inside the building. 

"Westerville Central High School has been checked using multiple K-9 units and no devices have been found," the Facebook post stated. All students were sent home on busses. 

This is one of a handful of bomb threats made toward Columbus-area schools in the past few days. 

On Monday, Canal Winchester High School and Middle School had to evacuate and students were sent home after receiving a threat. According to the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office, the threat was deemed "noncredible" after an investigation with the Federal Joint Terrorism Task Force. 

Another threat was made toward Pickerington North High School also on Monday, but was deemed false by authorities. Officials said they believed the two were connected, made me a man located several states away toward the west coast.
