CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Police Chief Eliot Isaac plans to retire early next year.
Isaac made the announcement Monday during a segment of the Lincoln Ware radio show.
"Right now, due to my tenure and how our retirement system works, I plan to retire sometime in the first quarter of 2022,” he said in a statement.
Isaac was sworn in as police chief in December 2015. He had held the title of interim chief since September of that year, following the firing of then-Chief Jeffrey Blackwell.
Isaac joined CPD in 1988. He has held various ranks in his more than 30 years as a Cincinnati police officer.
The city of Cincinnati has not yet released any details about the hiring process for a new chief.
