DAYTON, Ohio — The Dayton Lights in Flight Festival along with a firework show is returning to downtown Dayton on July 3, the city announced Thursday.
Last year, many firework shows for Independence Day were canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, including Dayton's.
The festival will start at noon and admission is free. City officials said there will be live music, food and games for guests to enjoy.
The fireworks will start at 10 p.m. at RiverScape Metro Park.
Dayton is the latest Ohio city to announce its firework show will be making a comeback, however, some still aren't in time for the Fourth of July. Cleveland said its event, Light up the Lake, will return, but Columbus' highly anticipated Red, White and Boom! didn't receive the proper permits in time. Columbus city officials said they will try to reschedule the show for sometime this fall.
