SAN ANTONIO — Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland on Wednesday afternoon reported a lockdown had been put in place due to an active shooter situation.

A message shared on social media reads “Active Shooter Lockdown on LAK. All base personnel implement LOCKDOWN procedures and immediately take cover.”

About 1:30 p.m. Joint Base San Antonio reported that there were likely no injuries in the shooting and that the shooting occurred outside the base's Valley Hi Gate. Military personnel were working with the San Antonio Police Department to locate the shooter or shooters.
