NAVARRE, Ohio — Baylor Beach Park is a family-owned waterpark and campground tucked away in Navarre, Ohio, in Stark County. David Baylor is the owner of Baylor Beach Park, which has been owned and operated by the Baylor family since 1954.

"My grandfather started the business, but he had another job. And then this is what they did kind of like for extra income in the summer. And then over the years, it slowly has grown," said Baylor.

Baylor also has another job, driving school buses during the school year. When summertime comes, his focus is all on the park.

"In between the school bus runs, I work on this place between the morning and afternoon. And like I said, my wife stays in the office, busy," Baylor said.

In addition to his wife, his brother and sister-in-law also work at the park during the summer. His daughter Cameron Baylor does as well. As a student studying counseling, she also works at a non-profit organization, but she enjoys being able to work with her dad at the family business too.

"I love it. I mean it's sometimes hard. It's hard to work with family," said Cameron Baylor.

The Baylor family takes pride in the fun experience they offer to other families. Families can enjoy diving boards and buckets that dump water on guests.

"People really like our log roll. You get on that blue barrel and you run and whoever falls off, or it's to see who stays on the longest," said David Baylor. "But the water slide, back to that, I think it's 90 feet long."

The waterpark also offers miniature golf and paddle boats for an additional cost. Baylor said there are a few things that set his waterpark apart from others, like the ability to bring your own food and drinks, campgrounds and the atmosphere.

"It's more relax and take your time and chill where other, you know, the other big multi-million-dollar parks might be a little crowded and busy and if you're not looking for that, you know, kind of the whole waiting in line all day, all this stuff and you want to just do relaxing. I guess people like us for that," David Baylor said.
