COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four people died in an apparent shooting Monday at a West Jefferson apartment, police said. 

The West Jefferson Police Department initially said three people were pronounced dead at the scene. On Tuesday, police revised the number to four.

Police received a call at approximately 5:27 p.m. Monday and responded to 127 Jackson St. One male was found laying on the lawn and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers found three others inside, also pronounced dead at the scene. 

The victims have been identified as:

  • Andrew Swindall, 45, who lived at the apartment
  • Shawn Wright, 45, from London, Ohio
  • Jamie Lavender, 30, from Springfield, Ohio
  • Leon Daniels, 38, of London, Ohio

West Jefferson Police said they believe the shooting took place sometime between 1 p.m. to 5:27 p.m.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Madison County Sheriff's Office are assisting in the investigation.
