COLUMBUS — It’s one of the busiest weeks of the year for 5th Avenue Floral in Columbus, but Manager Steve Hoover said business has been "up" during the entire pandemic.

What You Need To Know

  • In preparation for Valentine's Day, it's all hands on deck at 5th Avenue Floral in Columbus

  • Manager Steve Hoover says business has been up during the pandemic with more people wanting to send flowers to loved ones

  • 5th Avenue Floral will stop taking orders for Feb. 14th on Saturday

“More people are ordering online since they can’t be with their loved ones,” Hoover said.

The flower shop has been open since 1901 and is ready to tackle another Valentine’s Day.

“When it falls on a Sunday, it’s normally not as good, but I think this year is going to be totally different,” he said.

Columbus Resident Brittany King is one of the extra helpers during the holidays.

"I do have another full-time job so I do take some vacation time to help out here. I went to school for floral design so it’s a little way to use my degree in an aspect I don’t on a daily basis,” King said.

It’s a team effort to make sure everyone gets their favorite flowers this Feb. 14.

“Roses are the most popular, but everyone loves mixed things too,” Hoover said.
