CLEVELAND — The wait is finally over. The Cleveland Browns have not only ended a decades-long playoff drought, but also picked up the team’s first playoff win in decades.

What You Need To Know

  • The Browns defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 48-37 Sunday

  • The win was the team's first playoff win since 1994

  • For some fans, this is the first time in their lives that they’ve seen playoff success for the team

The Dawg Pound went crazy at a local Buffalo Wild Wings. Drivers honked their horns as fans took to the streets of Downtown Cleveland to celebrate a win they’ve waited a long time for.

“I thought we were going to lose our voice a couple times. Especially after the first play of the game," said Caden Campolieti, who is one of those young Browns fans, finally getting a chance to not only see his team in the playoffs, but get a win over the arch-rival Pittsburgh Steelers.

“It’s just hard to put into words, to be honest. I mean, going on 20 years old, and I’ve been a Browns fan my whole life, season ticket holder my whole life, and the pain and suffering I’ve been through, and us Clevelanders have been through, just to see the Browns win a playoff game and it to be against the Pittsburgh Steelers who just beat us down every time. It’s just — it’s insane.”

He isn’t the only one. Sean Mahon just bought himself a Myles Garrett jersey from the Pro Shop in the stadium.

“There’s a day called 1-31 at the end of January for a reason. I mean, it sucks, but you’re a Browns fan, so you're just trained to root past it.”

The 29 year old was too young to remember the last time the Browns made the playoffs in 2002. But he’s hoping he doesn’t have to wait that long again for more postseason victories.

"It feels good to finally win. That’s basically what it is. It feels good to finally win.”

And as members of the dawg pound hope to keep the momentum going, Campolieti is happy for Cleveland to have something to celebrate.

"How bad 2020 was, Indians just got rid of Francisco Lindor, but it’s just something nice. It’s like a nice like topping on the cake, just to see the Browns win.”

The Browns take on the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday afternoon, the team with the best record in the NFL and defending Super Bowl champion.
