CINCINNATI,Ohio — It’s not every day that first responders get recognized for the hard work they do in the community. And that is why Johnson Real Estate Group at Cutler Real Estate in Cincinnati’s Incline District decided to show their appreciation.

They partnered with the Incline Smoke Shack, Bloc Coffee Company and Veracruz Mexican Restaurant to sponsor free meals for the West End first responders.

  • A Cincinnati real estate group partnered with local restaurants to show their appreciation for first responders
  • First responders had several options for choosing a meal
  • More than 30 first responders reserved a meal on Wednesday and many say there were veryy grateful

“We wanted to do something to give back to our first responders because they do so much for us in this community, making sure that we’re safe, and we thought it would be a great idea to give them a free meal,” said Olivia Johnson, a Johnson Real Estate Group realtor.

When it came to choosing a meal, first responders had several options— from Mexican food, sandwiches, and fries. More Than 30 first responders reserved a meal on Wednesday and many of them say they were very grateful for the kind gesture.

“All the local businesses have been great, all the local restaurants have been great, and our men and women at the police department really appreciate this support. It gives them a little morale boost,” said Sergeant Jacob Hicks, with the Cincinnati Police Department.

Incline Smoke Shack Managing Partner Kevin Geers says it was important to get involved with this initiative because rescue workers have not only done a great job protecting the community, but also because “They’ve always been stronger supporters of ours coming up and supporting the restaurants up here and it was kind of a great opportunity for us to give back to them,” said Geers.

The Johnson Real Estate Group hopes this initiative shows first responders they’re truly appreciated for the hard work they do every day.

“We wanted to tell the first responders, grab a meal on us, take in the nice views, take in the nice weather, and just let this be a thank you for all the great things that you do for us,” said Johnson.
