OHIO- While the coronavirus pandemic has caused many businesses to close and layoff workers, some companies are hiring thousands of new employees to meet a surge in demand.

Companies such as Walmart, UPS, Amazon, and others have all said they need new workers now. 

So if you, or someone you know, needs a job, here is a partial list of some of the places that are currently hiring.

CVS Health announced its “most ambitious hiring drive in the company’s history,” with plans to immediately fill 50,000 full-time, part-time, and temporary roles across the country. Roles include store associates, home delivery drivers, distribution center employees, and customer service professionals.

The company will use a technology-enabled hiring process that includes virtual job fairs, virtual interviews, and virtual job tryouts. Many roles will be filled by existing CVS Health clients who have had to furlough workers, including Hilton and Marriott.

7-Eleven is hiring more than 20,000 new store employees across the country to meet the increased demand for its products and services amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

Dollar General, has a number of full- and part-time positions available in many of their stores across Ohio. 

Family Dollar has many open positions across multiple locations in Ohio.

Aldi is hiring a number of seasonal employees.

Domino’s is looking to hire delivery drivers, pizza makers, customer service representatives, managers, and assistant managers, as demand grows across the country for the company’s 17,000 locations. 

Papa John’s is another major pizza chain that is hiring. Papa John’s said it plans to hire 20,00 new employees. The company said it’s even making the hiring process simpler. To see what positions are available, visit jobs.papajohns.com. 

Pizza Hut is hiring more than 30,000 new employees nationwide. The move comes as the company also rolls out a contactless delivery option for customers. To apply, visit jobs.pizzahut.com. 

Walmart has announced it’s looking to hire 150,000 new workers through May to meet demand. The jobs are temporary, but the company said many would become permanent. For more information and to apply, visit careers.walmart.com.

Amazon is ramping up hiring with plans to bring 100,000 new positions to the table nationwide. Full- and part-time positions are now available in fulfillment centers and with its delivery teams to meet the surge in demand. Amazon also announced it would up its wages for employees from $15 per hour to $17 per hour through April. 

UPS is hiring many positions across Ohio, including drivers and warehouse workers.

PepsiCo announced it would hire 6,000 new, full-time, full-benefit frontline employees across the U.S. in the coming months. Positions are currently open in Ohio.

USPA Nationwide Security is looking for security officers specifically to work at drive-through coronavirus testing sites.
