ELYRIA, Ohio — “Fueling Your Ideas for the Future” is the motto behind NEO LaunchNET at Lorain County Community college.
- Mentoring
- Free and unlimited coaching
- Registration ends March 25
Recently, LCCC and five other colleges across the nation were chosen to partner with Amazon.
“They want to sell something that they already have existing at a brick and mortar and they would like to take that and get an online presence and Amazon would be a great avenue for them to do that or if they want to start something up and just start selling it online, we can help with that too,” said Matthw Poyle, program coordinator, NEO LaunchNET.
Matthew Poyle is the program coordinator for NEO LaunchNET at Lorain County Community College. He says they have experience working with Amazon.
“There are 6 schools that are part of this, we were actually the co-leads with North Idaho College, so we’re instrumental in developing some of the curriculum and working with Amazon since day one,” he said.
The Amazon Small Business Academy will begin offering entrepreneurs the chance to learn digital strategies and brand-building.
“So, what we do here at NEO LaunchNET, we offer free and unlimited coaching and mentoring to all student, faculty, and alumni and alumni is anyone who has ever taken a class, so if anyone has ever taken a class here at Lorain County Community College, they can come in and use our services” Poyle said.
NEO LaunchNET is funded by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation in Hudson. It sponsors programs that encourage students to become entrepreneurs.
Poyle recently traveled to Amazon headquarters in Seattle to discuss this program.
“It was great seeing where everything got started and now they own 41 buildings in downtown Seattle, so Amazon is huge and it was great working with them” said Poyle.
Registration for NEO LaunchNET at LCCC ends March 25.
