CLEVELAND, Ohio — If you are feeling the need for speed and ready to be on a racetrack, BOSS Pro-Karting in Cleveland may be the answer.
- Electric pro-karts
- No air pollution
- Training
“Cars and racing is what we do,” said Lee Boss, the owner of BOSS Pro-Karting.
Racing is the family business, so the Boss family decided to open up their own indoor pro-karting track.
“So, our family name is Boss. My first cousin Brad and I started this and yeah, our whole family has been into racing cars, motor sports, forever, so we went with the family name for the go kart track,” said Boss.
These go karts are unique because they are totally electric and they have no power steering. Plus, there’s no air pollution.
“The sound and smell of lawnmower engines, which is what you get with a lot of go karts, isn’t exactly the same, so not having any of the fumes any of the smell, the exhaust, that kind of stuff allows us to be sitting right here at the fence watching the karts go by,” said Boss.
The pro-karts have a lot of torque and can reach speeds of up to 45 mph. That may not seem fast, but when you are in the kart racing, you do get that speed rush.
“It’s really great, it’s exciting to be on the track, you know, you really get that exuberating feeling going around the turns and just having a lot of fun,” said Brittany Moriarity, of Cleveland.
“It felt faster than 45 mph. I was scared, but had the time of my life. When I say I was talking smack to the people who drove before me, I apologized and took it all back after that,” said Terron Allen of Garfield Heights.
