GLENDALE, Ariz.— It was a roller coaster of a game for all the Buckeye fans in Glendale.

  • The game was as close as a lot of experts thought, but many fans were watching the final drive in agony as the Buckeyes attempted a heroic comeback
  • As soon as Clemson intercepted the ball in the end zone, fans filed out of State Farm Stadium
  • Despite the loss, many fans said they are still glad they made the trip to Phoenix

Fans immediately filed out of State Farm Stadium after the end zone interception that sealed the deal for Clemson, many very upset with the outcome.

“I’m feeling sad. It was a great season, just didn’t want it to end that way. We had a great drive, just a tough way to end for sure,” said Matthew Isakson, Ohio State sophomore.

“I’m pretty upset about the loss, but I’m glad that we got to come here. It was a fun experience,” said Kyler Cummins, Oho State fan.

But they knew it wouldn’t be an easy road, especially facing the reigning national champion.

“Coming in, I knew Clemson was really good. And I was worried. But I really thought Ohio State could have it,” said Janet Auer, Ohio State fan.

“It’s always good seeing great competition, camaraderie. And we’ve played these guys many times and unfortunately they have our number,” said Jonathan Hedden, Ohio State fan.

And while it was an outcome these Buckeye fans didn’t see coming, they say they knew it would be a close one.

“I don’t think either fan base thought they were gonna lose. So, I don’t know. Think it went the way it was expected. I think the game was interesting. A lot of referee calls that could have been called back,“ said Zach Lalkowski, Ohio State fan.

Despite the loss, a lot of the fans said they have no regrets coming all the way to Phoenix to watch the Buckeyes lose.
