INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — The Topgolf in Independence, Ohio can be seen as you drive down interstate 480.
- Features games using microchipped balls to keep score
- Gives players their accuracy and distance on the monitors
- Hitting bays are climate-controlled
The massive 65,000 square foot golf resort is more than just a driving range —it’s 3 floors of fun.
“People coming here for the first time, picking up a golf club or practicing their game and just trying to get better. Then again, it’s a great introduction for people to pick a golf club for the very first time, but yes, at nighttime with the lights and the music, it’s fun, is the number one word I can think of,” said John Lesieutre, director of operations, Topgolf.
Once you enter Topgolf, it’s hard not to miss the giant television.
“When you walk in our entrance, you’ll see an 18-foot screen that can get divided up in many ways… we had practice this last Saturday with the Ohio State game up on that big screen and yeah, we’re ready to do that…every bay has a TV you can watch whatever you want on those TVs,” said Lesieutre.
Topgolf features games using microchipped balls to keep score.
Plus, it gives players their accuracy and distance on the monitors.
The hitting bays are climate-controlled, so bad weather will not mess up your game.
“I like it a lot, nice and warm on a cold day like this hitting golf balls, can’t beat it,” said Paul Trickett, customer.
Topgolf is making some unique foods that you will not find at your average sports venue.
“We are an entirely made-from-scratch kitchen… you are gonna have everything from chimichurri nachos with ancho-marinated smoked chicken, to a jumbo pretzel charcuterie board that has prosciutto and candied pecans and cheese,” said Jeff Heisler, Topgolf executive chef.
The grand opening for Topgolf will be December 13.
