Mythology, folklore, and a good amount of obsession abound in The Troll Hole; It’s a local world full of history, luck, and trolls. Lots and lots of trolls. No, this isn’t Scandinavia, a Tolkien novel, the underside of a bridge, or inside a wardrobe. This magical hermetic oasis is found here in Ohio, in the town of Alliance.
Sherry Groom, owner and operator of The Troll Hole began her troll obsession at the young age of 5. Since then, she has amassed the largest collection of troll dolls in the world. Her troll “museum” is covered from floor to ceiling in over 20,000 unique trolls and troll related items. What started as a simple assortment of good luck toys has become an overwhelming amount of colorful hair and belly button gems. Perhaps the only thing that Sherry loves more than her trolls is sharing her fascination with others.
