BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio — At first glance, he might look like just another truck driver—because that’s what John Drury does during the day.

But as soon as he gets a break from work, it’s on.
He goes from John the trucker, to The Dancing Trucker.
Every day, he hits the street corners just north of Cincinnati, with nothing but a playlist, headphones, and some dance moves he says he picked up from friends and in aerobics classes.
“I’ve been dancing all my life, I lost 100 pounds back in 2011 through dance fitness,” said Drury.
There’s even a video of him dancing that’s gone viral.

“Yeah, I’m doing it for attention, but at the same time, it’s positive attention,” said Drury.
He says he got the idea from someone who can’t be here to see him.
“My mother was killed by a drunk driver four years ago, and when something like that happens to you, your life changes… life is short, this is why I went to the street,” said Drury.
And, it’s part of the reason he wears the shirt while he does it.

“It’s really simple, someone out there driving by me is having a really bad day, that’s all there is to it, I want to change that for that person,” said Drury.
That, to him, makes it all worth it…
“I’m tired but I’m still gonna do it, because I know it’s gonna change someone’s day.”

The Dancing Trucker says he’s trying to take his moves to the national spotlight too.
