CANTON, Ohio —John Stone has been taking pictures since he was a kid.

  • John Stone uses Eyeclectic Photography to spread a message of hope, love, and peace
  • He presents interactive PowerPoints to hospitals, churches and anywhere else his services are requested, to help people battling illness or addiction
  • Stone has presented his art as far away as Las Vegas and New York

“My first camera was a little Yogi Bear plastic toy camera that I got at Geauga Lake from a guesser who failed to guess my age. Guessed me older, which is ok when you’re 8!” said Stone, with Eyeclectic Photography.

And when taking pictures in places like Nimisilla Park in Canton, he keeps in mind song lyrics from groups like Tears for Fears.

"High time we take a stand to shake up the views of the common man and the love train rides from coast to coast. Every minute of every hour I love a sunflower and I believe in love power sowing the seeds of love," said Stone.

And he wants to put that message of love, art and photography to good use with Eyeclectic Photography as therapy.

“Eyeclectic Therapy is like awareness therapy. To help people to focus. To see through new eyes. To really see through eyes of love,” Stone said.

Stone uses interactive PowerPoint presentations to bring his images to life for people battling illness or addiction.

“I’ve done presentations at recovery programs where, you know, after two hours’ time that someone that’s really been struggling with their addiction gets up and says to me, I haven’t smiled in weeks and now I can’t stop. That my presentation had that effect on them is pretty powerful,” said Stone.

He has taken his photographs as far as Las Vegas and New York, presenting in hospitals, churches and anywhere else he’s requested.

“God is the artist and he’s given me the awareness to capture those miracles and to share them with others,” said Stone.

Images with a mission —going beyond art and photography.
