CINCINNATI, Ohio — It isn’t a haunted house you want to go through by yourself.

  • A haunted house in Cincinnati is making it their mission to make people even more petrified this Halloween
  • There are cut off body parts, dolls that come alive, witches, creepy clowns and zombie dogs
  • The show’s creators say it takes all year, from the time the show ends to next Halloween, to make it all happen

In fact, people lined up in groups and in pairs, to see for themselves what makes the haunted Dent Schoolhouse so haunted.

There are cut off body parts, dolls that come alive, witches, creepy clowns and zombie dogs.

And all of that is mixed in with people who pop out of walls and chase you with chainsaws.

I’ve seen young kids come through high-fiving and loving it, and I’ve seen grown adults come through crying and petrified,” said Bud Stross, co-creator.

Co-creator Bud Stross says they’ve worked all year to get those kinds of reactions.

“Our team starts at right when we shut down for the previous year, just to make sure our show is ready for the coming year, so there’s planning, the actual construction, the set design, the painting, and then you can start getting into whether your make up staff is properly trained and getting adequate,” said Stross.

But this house is planning to take it up another notch.

“Guests can upgrade to a touch pass, and again, they’re not gonna like throw you up against the wall and hurt you, but they pop that security bubble you have, so they’ll touch your shoulders, they’ll touch your legs, they may hug you and hold you for a little bit,” said Stross.

Normally, that’s off limits, but they’ve gotten the go-ahead from the fire department and city.

And when you’re in there, you can’t get out fast enough.
