25-year-old Jasmine Burton got into design and making clothes, her junior year in high school, but she knew that was only the beginning for her.
She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from CCAD. Since then, she's created free-flowing dance-wear, accessories, and evening wear. She says she loves creating pieces with lots of beading in addition to ready to wear clothes. "So I don't like trying to think of what to make...cause I just want to see the finished product. Cause like, I'll just keep sewing. I will not stop until it's done. I want to see the actual visual of it. Cause I'll like just think of it in my head. I won't really sketch it out or anything. I'll just think of it and just do it.
Burton shared her collection for the first time during the kick-off event for fashion week. She says she wants to open a boutique eventually. But for now, she'll continue to build her online presence and brand, Alexandria Jay.
