A judge declared 50 immigrants from 24 countries officially U.S. citizens.

Dancers also took the stage, as part of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s International Cleveland Community Day, which was held on Sunday.

Organizers say it was a festival honoring heritage, celebrating identity, and showing it off proudly.

“Today we celebrate our rich cultures within the context of the museum's global collection, and we celebrate the idea of being affirming and welcoming to all,” said Deidre McPherson, director of community programs, The Cleveland Museum of Art.

Deidre McPherson is the director of community programs for the museum.

She says it’s rewarding to bring people from so many different countries together in one place.

“Because we are a museum that is global and represents basically the history of human creativity over centuries, we want to introduce and share our collection with as many people in Greater Cleveland as we can,” said McPherson.

A global celebration in a global city, full of diversity.
