Ohio Governor John Kasich Saturday issued a statement regarding the passing for former President George H.W. Bush. The 41st president died November 30 at the age of 94. 

 “He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a gentleman, a patriot, a public servant, a statesman and a leader,” he wrote.  Gov. Kasich also called for flags at public buildings and grounds in Ohio  be flown at half-staff for the next 30 days.

President Donald Trump issued a proclamation earlier Saturday, directing the American flag be flown at half-staff at all public buildings across the United States for the next 30 days, as well at all military posts and naval stations.

Additionally, President Trump appointed December 5 as a National Day of Mourning throughout the United States.
