CINCINNATI - Meet Winsol, the new baby aardvark at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.

The zoo staff named him after the winter solstice, which is also his birthday.

The zoo posted a video on YouTube of Winsol and his mom, Ali, with the zoo animal care team. Since Winsol’s birth, the two have been spending time together behind the scenes.

The staff is monitoring both mom and baby making sure Ali doesn’t accidentally roll over Winsol and reposition him if he’s not in the correct nursing position.

Once Winsol can manage without staff help, he and Ali will move back in to the regular zoo exhibit.
