City Councilmember Ukeme Awakessien Jeter is proud to serve the city of Upper Arlington. Shortly after moving to the city, she was inspired to run for elected office to make the community feel more like home for her young daughter and to be the representation she wished to see in government.
So far, the biggest lesson she's learned on the job is how to collaborate with her colleagues to arrive at the best solutions to problems facing the community. Her favorite part of her job is hearing from local residents about what makes Upper Arlington special to them.
The elected official she'd most like to have lunch with is the late politician and civil rights activist John Lewis. Her current favorite movie is "The Greatest Showman", which she loves to watch with her kids.
