Ohio State Representative Jay Edwards's (R-94) district includes Ohio University, his alma mater. According to Edwards, that's just part of what makes District 94 special: "If you go back in the history of my district, we're a generation of blue-collar, hardworking, coal-mining generation of folks, that still have that same mentality, very hardworking. It's very unique. It's a very diverse district."

Edwards speaks from experience; he's currently representing the district he grew up in. He says closing the digital divide and building a coalition of Appalachian leaders are some of his priorities for his time in office. 

Edwards cites his father's advice, "have thick skin and just keep going," as some of the best he's ever received.
