Ohio State Senator Jay Hottinger (R-31) was inspired to run for office because "I grew up in a neighborhood, or an end of town, that was blighted, or neglected. I saw problems and thought that I could do better than the people who were currently in office. At the ripe age of 21 as a senior in college, I got elected to City Council."
Hottinger also gave a shout out to the new chapter of the Boys and Girls Club that recently opened in his district.
If someone from out-of-town was visiting District 31, Hottinger would take them to the courthouse in his hometown, Newark: "I think it's the most beautiful courthouse... in the state of Ohio."
