Jimmy and Robin Burrow, the parents of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, sat down with Mike Kallmeyer to talk about their journey to Athens, Ohio.

When Joe was a young boy, the family packed up and moved to Ohio for Jimmy to take a coaching job at Ohio University. Years later, the Burrow family still finds themselves right here in the Buckeye State. Jimmy and Robin talk about the impact their son is having on and off the field, starting with his speech after receiving the Heisman award.

“He’s not emotional like that, so when we see him up there and he’s breaking up a little you know it’s from the heart,” Jimmy said.

After that speech, thousands of people began to donate money to the Athens area for food insecurity.

The Burrows also talk with Kallmeyer about Joe’s talent on the field.

“He’s just so controlled and calm all the time, he doesn’t get too high or too low, he’s always Steady Eddy and he always has been,” Robin said.
