The State Director of the National Federation of Independent Business, Chris Ferusso, talked with Mike Kallmeyer about the impact small businesses have on Ohio’s economy.
Ferusso discussed how he supports small businesses in the state.
Recently thousands of small business owners signed a petition to reject the 2024 White House budget because of tax increases.
“There are buzz phrases to get around calling tax increases tax increases like closing loopholes and things like that — we’re not buying that. The reality is it’s going to be a massive tax increase on small businesses,” he said.
Retention is another challenge that many small businesses face.
“Folks don’t necessarily stay in an enterprise for decades or longer, many times it’s six months or six weeks in some instances, and they’re offered a dollar more an hour, not considering what opportunities might await them down the road,” he said.
