Newly elected State Representative Josh Williams sat down with Mike Kallmeyer to reflect on Black History Month.

Williams told Kallmeyer about the challenges he faced as a young adult and how he fought to create a better life for him and his son. As we celebrate Black History Month, Williams shared with Kallmeyer that he was led into politics to make change.

"Politics just started to ring supreme that if I wanted to make meaningful changes in our community I couldn't do it one defendant at a time I had to make massive changes," he said.

Williams explained that much of what we hear about African American history is negative, but Black History Month is about the positive contributions black individuals have made.
