An organization in Zanesville, Ohio, called the Veterans Appreciation Foundation works to honor men and women who serve.

Wayne Clark, the president of the organization, described the ways they thank and support veterans, including a monthly breakfast, veteran banners around the town and visits to veterans in nursing homes.

“So many veterans in these nursing homes get almost no visitation, maybe they have no family left, so we put together a really nice Christmas package for all of them and take it to them,” Clark said.

The foundation also funds Honor Flights for veterans in the area so they can visit Washington D.C.
