In Focus host Mike Kallmeyer talked with Sherry Poland, director of the Hamilton County Board of Elections, to see how preparations are going for Election Day. Poland expects the voter turnout to be significant for this midterm.

“I just think for this election, what we’ve been seeing is people are interested,” she said.

More than 2,200 poll workers have been trained in Hamilton County to serve on Election Day.

“It’s been a little bit of a challenging year for election officials in Ohio because we had the two primary elections that we were not scheduled for,” she said.

Poland walks through counting votes once polling locations close at 7:30 p.m., then conducting accuracy testing and other data that is required by the Secretary of State’s Office.
