Wesleigh Cummings is the vice present of development for the organization “Pink Ribbon Girls.” The organization helps women and families affected by breast cancer.
They provide rides to appointments, meals and peer support.
“Our tag line is no one travels this road alone,” Cummings said.
She told Mike Kallmeyer the news of getting breast cancer is devastating and not everyone has the support of friends and family around.
“Here in Columbus, there’s multiple people that move into the community and don’t have that,” she said.
Cummings also described the impact breast cancer can have on family members of those who are diagnosed. Kallmeyer asked Cummings what she defines as a success story at Pink Ribbon Girls.
“There are so many success stories,” she said. “Some women were not going to chemotherapy because they didn’t have a ride until they heard about Pink Ribbon Girls.”
