Steve Stivers, president and CEO of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, spoke on a panel in Allen County discussing the struggles Ohio businesses are facing and the plans Ohio leaders have to help businesses thrive.
“Ohio is on the rise,” Stivers said.
He is working to stress the positive aspects about Ohio so that people want to come live and work in the state. While employers in Ohio work to get employees, Stivers discussed some of the creative ways companies are dealing with the shortage of labor.
“Business owners, big and small, are investing in technology to substitute for labor in some cases,” he said.
Stivers described an “untapped” group of people who could help with the labor shortage as well.
