Ohio Treasurer of State Robert Sprague told Mike Kallmeyer manufacturing and agriculture, two of Ohio’s biggest job sectors, are feeling the strain of inflation. Sprague said what the state is doing to lower the interest rates for crop and livestock farmers.
“I can tell you farmers really are very concerned,” Sprague said. “In some cases they are concerned this could look like the mid-1980s when we saw so many farmers struggle. But the solution is not actually in the treasurer’s office, it’s actually in Washington D.C., they just need to stop overspending.”
Regarding the Inflation Reduction Act, Sprague fears it is just “more of the same,” and will not ease any financial burden for families.
