Mike Kallmeyer spoke with Sherri Hamilton, executive director of the Ohio Black Expo, to discuss the big event May 26-29 in downtown Columbus that attracts people from across the state, and even from several places across the country.

The event features workshops and networking events, followed by entertainment events.

“Our mission now is to improve the quality of life for African Americans overall, which is a nice umbrella for us to do a lot of things,” Hamilton said. “But absolutely, the foundation of the expo is to expose Black business and organizations, and to celebrate.”

She said proceeds from the event go toward youth and community programs.
