Mike Kallmeyer took In Focus on the road and visited Cleveland City Hall to sit down with Mayor Justin Bibb. At 35 years old, Bibb is the second-youngest mayor in Cleveland history.

The two discuss a range of topics, from the lessons he learned from his parents that still guide him today, to his vision of policing in the city and the steps he plans to take to help Cleveland shine on a national stage.

“We can’t afford more of the same,” Bibb said. “And we’ve taken the mantle of leadership with that spirit of urgency to make sure that Cleveland can be a model of having a modern city hall, of really re-imagining public safety, and making sure we put our people and their inputs first all across the community.”

Bibb believes the city is poised to emerge from the pandemic with a new identity. He said the strength of the city is its people, and he’s taking his message across the country hoping to get Americans to invest in the city of Cleveland.
