One of the members of the Ohio Black Maternal Health Caucus joins In Focus to discuss improving Ohio's wide disparity between white and black women who die within weeks of childbirth. The group, created last month, is the first of its kind in the state. Democratic Representative Erica Crawley of Columbus says the caucus is working to bring awareness to the growing problem. Crawley says healthcare inequality in Ohio isn't a poor or a wealth issue, it's a black issue. A new report released by the Centers for Disease Control confirms there are “persistent racial disparities” in the risks faced by black women and American Indian/Alaska Native women who are about three times as likely to die from pregnancy and childbirth than white w
