CLEVELAND — Half a million holiday lights are on display at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is once again transforming into a winter wonderland with the return of their Wild Winter Lights.
There are one and a half million lights that turn on when the sun goes down.
“People really love the displays” Executive Director Chris Kuhar said. “They love the displays that are set to music. But we have other things. We've got the costume characters, we've got ice carvings, you've got model train displays. So there's a lot of stuff and everybody kind of likes their own special thing.”
There's holiday fun for all ages: a visit from Santa and even a visit with the winter animals.
“You can see bears, you can see the tigers, you can see the snow leopards, right," Kuhar said. "This is their prime time season. So yeah, you can see some animals as well as seeing the lights."
With holiday-themed areas like candy land, the enchanted forest and starry skies, there really is something for everyone to get into the festive feeling.
“Sometimes it's nice to just to slow down a little bit, hang out and spend some time and sort of get into the spirit,” Kuhar said.
Tickets for the Wild Winter Lights display are on sale right now.
