ALTADENA, Calif. — The night the Eaton Fire started, it stole nearly everything from the Anderson family. In just a matter of hours, their home, neighborhood and the school their daughter attended were reduced to ash.

Still, they believe they are among the lucky ones, having found a good Samaritan who moved out of their home for them to have a roof over their head and seeing their school community at the Oak Knoll Montessori School mobilize to reunite students.

The family's decision may have been tough, but given all the change their daughter has endured, they felt it was the right move.

Now, the Oak Knoll Montessori school has been able to clear up administrative space in a sister campus to bring back the primary students and have a GoFundMe to get into a new building as soon as possible.
