Organizations fighting food insecurity can now apply for support.

The 2025 Food Insecurity Project is underway in Monroe County. It's a partnership between the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County, County Executive Adam Bello and the Monroe County Legislature.

CCE will help eligible local organizations with equipment purchases, facility repairs and hygiene products needed to help people obtain and maintain sustainable food.

Officials say this is not a grant and that approved items will be purchased on behalf of the organizations. Organizations may receive up to $10,000 in goods and materials that are purchased for them.

For more information or assistance with the application, organizations are asked to contact Andrea Lista at monroefoodproject@cornell.edu.
