Jen Metzger has declared victory in the race for Ulster County executive.

The former state senator has come out ahead of Republican Town of Ulster Supervisor James Quigley. With all districts reporting in Ulster County, Metzger is the projected winner by about a 10% margin.

Metzger declared victory in a late-night tweet following Tuesday's election. She replaces acting Executive Johanna Contreras, who chose not to run after taking over for now-Representative Pat Ryan.

In Dutchess County, Republican Kirk Imperati, the acting sheriff, declared victory in his race for a full term.

Imperati is comfortably ahead of Democrat challenger Jillian Hanlon with 100% of precincts reporting.

Imperati took over after the death of former county sheriff Butch Anderson last year.
