EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Sometimes, all an athlete needs is a change of scenery, and Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is a perfect example.

After 12 seasons in Detroit and zero postseason wins, Stafford was traded to LA in the offseason.

His new team won a division title and three playoff games, and now Stafford has the talent-heavy Rams one win away from a championship.

“As far as a superstar heavy team ... I think that’s kinda what the outside world probably thinks of us ... but for us we just come into work every single day,” Stafford said. “We’ve got nothing but guys who wanna come in here and work hard, from the top down. ... Aaron Donald sets the tone. I mean, that guy is an unbelievable worker, and his ability to push and drive our defense is second to none. Jalen Ramsey is the same. ... Von Miller has come in and just fit right in.

“And on the offensive side of the ball it’s the same way ... ‘Big Wits’ (Andrew Whitworth) has been doing this for a long time and sets the tone for us on offense and does an unbelievable job of leading the guys up front and really everybody. And then we have guys that just fill in and do their job.”

Stafford said he knows most Lions fans are rooting for the Rams this week and hopes he can win the Super Bowl in part for the people of Detroit.
