CLEVELAND — For the third consecutive season, Steven Kawn and Andrés Giménez have earned Rawlings Gold Glove Awards for their stellar defensive play during the 2024 season.

Giménez, a second-basemen, led the American League with 20 Defensive Runs Saved. He led Major League second basemen in total chances (638), assists (396) and double plays (93) while leading all MLB fielders with 21 Outs Above Average. He joins Roberto Alomar (1999 to 2001) as the only Cleveland second basemen to win three Rawlings Gold Gloves. 

Kwan, a left fielder, finished fourth among AL left fielders in Defensive Runs Saved (10) and placed second in outfield assists. (9). He is Cleveland’s first outfielder since Kenny Lofton (1993 to96) to win three straight Rawlings Gold Gloves.

Giménez and Kwan are the first Cleveland teammates to capture the award in three straight seasons, since 2B Roberto Alomar and SS Omar Vizquel each earned the honor from 1999 to 2001. 

The Guardians fell to the New York Yankees in the ALCS in five games. The Guardians won the AL Central and finished with a 92-69 record.
